Barnawartha Primary School

Proud of the past, preparing for the future
Barnawartha Primary School provides a friendly and caring small school environment that is typified by challenging and futures orientated learning experiences. With an emphasis on keeping class sizes to a minimum (average of 18) we enable students to develop the skills and knowledge to become active citizens of their community.
The whole school community sees the social and emotional wellbeing of students as a necessary focus of their schooling life. With a strong emphasis on integrating the ‘You Can Do It' values of Resilience, Organisation, Confidence, Persistence and Getting Along throughout the curriculum.
Along with Literacy and Numeracy being a high priority the staff also see it as vital to equip each student with the necessary skills for the 21st Century. The integration of other Domains through "Rich Tasks" that focus on developing skills that are authentic and related to real life experiences are a necessity. Through specialist teachers Barnawartha also offers specialist programs in Music, Science and Technology and Visual Arts.
The Investing In Our Schools Grant has enabled Barnawartha to become more equipped in integrating Information Communication Technologies into the curriculum. Each classroom has an Interactive Whiteboard to become better equipped to enhance student outcomes, teacher effectiveness and student engagement. With a computer to student ratio of 1 computer to every 2 students, the students have ready access for classroom and extension activities.
Catering for all families, we offer onsite before school, after school and vacation care through Indigo North Health.
A National Quality Schooling award winning school, 2006.
